Clinging to the Past in What Remains of Edith Finch

There are a whole bunch of award-winning games out there that I tend to avoid because they seem more like interactive experiences than actual games.  Video games are an amazing medium for storytelling, and while I love a good story, I still don’t want that game aspect to be forgotten, either.  (Otherwise, I’d just read a book, y’know.)  Nevertheless, sometimes it pays to take chances with games one might not normally want to play, and What Remains of Edith Finch is a prime example of that.  (This post is not appearing on Virtual Bastion because Cary already covered this game in an excellent review of her own.)

Little Nightmares 2 is Back for More Gruesome Goodness

The long-awaited Little Nightmares 2 is finally here, folks!  And though I was a bit hesitant about setting my expectations too high (I’ve been let down by too many sequels, you see), I can safely say this game does not disappoint!  This time around, we play as a boy named Mono, though it isn’t long before we are accompanied by Six from the original game.  (We don’t find out it’s her until the end of chapter 2, but this detail is pretty much already spoiled in the game’s online description, so…)  Mono’s goal is to brave the Pale City, reach the Signal Tower, and find the source of the Transmission.  Along the way, he and Six encounter various grotesque creatures and must use stealth and wits to survive.

New Horizons Island and House Tour

A couple weeks ago, I wrote about my plans for Quackville, my island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.  After hours of terraforming and painstakingly attempting to make my plans a reality, my semi-Disney-inspired island is now complete, including a condensed version of Main Street USA, Frontierland, Adventureland, New Orleans Square, and Tom Sawyer Island on the left and a three-tier residential area and zen garden on the right.  If you’d like to see a tour of my island and house, you can find the video below: Continue reading New Horizons Island and House Tour
