The Paper Bag Strikes Again

So it’s late at night, probably ten or eleven, and I hear a crash from downstairs.  Almost in unison, Mother Duck and I emerge from our rooms at the commotion.  She tells me the cats came running into her room, and so, while she goes downstairs to investigate, I go to check on the kitties.  Carmelita is nowhere to be found, but Rosalina (pictured above) is peeking out from underneath Mother Duck’s bed, looking quite shaken.  On closer inspection, I discover that she has the handle from a paper bag hanging from her neck like a bizarre piece of jewelry (not unlike something Camelita did a while back…).

Cat Naps in People Laps

I haven’t talked about my Siamese cat sisters, Rosalina and Carmelita, all that much lately, so I thought I would, once again, recount a few things about my precious, little angels. Because you can never talk too much about your pets. To start, both cats like sitting on Mother Duck’s lap. Usually, Carmelita sits on her lap during the first half of the day, and Rosalina sits on her lap in the evenings. I have no idea why they won’t sit on me during the day time, but…

A Surprise from Beneath the Blanket: A Kitty Story

Seeing as our two Siamese kitten sisters, Rosalina and Carmelita, have proven to be an endless source of entertainment and silliness, I thought I’d write about another goofy story.  Since we’re currently living in a rental, we have a huge pile of boxes overtaking the dining area.  (Who uses dining rooms anyway when you can eat dinner on the couch in front of the TV…?)  And our cats love chewing on cardboard, so we have a blanket on two of the boxes to prevent our feisty felines from tugging on a few bits of cardboard that have become loose.  This story revolves around the fact that Rosie enjoys napping on this blanket and Carmelita’s obsession with going under blankets. The Great Grape Massacre of 2020

If you’ve been following along with the Duck’s blog for the past year, then you’ll know we got two Siamese kittens back in August of 2019.  They are now a little over a year old, but as naughty as ever.  At the moment, they seem to have a great obsession with getting on the kitchen counter, and no amount of discipline has yet been able to dissuade them.  The only positive aspect of this obvious lack of respect for rules and boundaries is that it has led to three rather humorous tales. Over a Month with Carmelita and Rosalina

G’day, everyone, just thought I’d write a little update concerning our two new kittens, Rosalina and Carmelita.  Both kittens had several vet visits recently to finish their vaccines and to take care of a little tapeworm issue, but other than that, they’ve been quite happy and healthy and have grown a bit, too!  Carmelita was a whopping six pounds when last we checked, while tiny Rosalina, probably the runt, was only three or four (I forget…or she gained a pound between vet appointments).
