The Duck seems to have no shortage of weird dreams, the night of November 6, 2017 among them. I wish my mind was so creatively inclined when it was awake, but alas, this is not to be. While the order of events is rather unclear, I will do my best to ensure this makes about as much sense as a dream can. Which is not at all.
I remember a large building that I think was a museum. For whatever reason, I had brought my cat Elsa along and was going to leave her in this main room as I checked the place out. Of course, I quickly realized that this was quite unsafe for my kitty, so I picked her up and took her with me. The building was very large and sprawling indeed, and along the way, I ran into the Carpetbagger, one of my favorite Youtubers. In the dream, we apparently knew each other, as we both talked like old friends. Though the dream seems pretty calm at this point, I recall something more sinister working in the background. It occurred to me recently that, as fond as my memories are of practically anything Disney-related, the Disney Parks are not wholly without unhappiness. No, quite the contrary. It was at one of these so-called “happiest places on Earth” that the Duck was subject to something very unpleasant indeed…traumatic even. But how could this be? How could a place filled with Disney characters and parades and fireworks, a place where even murderous pirates sing jaunty tunes, ever have a sinister side to it? Heck, even the 999 resident ghosts are specifically described as “happy haunts”, proving that Disney is indeed a joyous place for the living and the dead!
But nay, my friends, I speak the truth. There was a time when the Disney Parks were a very unhappy place for this particular Duck. Well then, where did this sad tale of woe take place, you must be asking with barely hidden disbelief? Why, dear readers, the culprit responsible is none other than…Disney World’s Tomorrowland. Lock your windows and bolt your doors, for Halloween is just around the corner (to keep the trick-or-treaters from pilfering your candy, of course)! With UWG’s recent venture into Youtube, what better way to celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year than…wait for it…a live Youtube event! Live, now that’s spooky. (If you had seen all the software I had to configure to get this working, you’d be scared, too.)
What will I be sharing live with all of you, you ask? Well, I’ve decided to try my hand, er, wing at the first game in the immensely popular horror series for the PC, Five Nights at Freddy’s. In this terrifying game, you must survive five nights at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, where you watch the animatronic characters through the cameras in your office. These characters are left on at night to avoid the risk of locking up, but they also like to wander… Continue reading Announcing UWG Halloween 2015: FNAF Live Stream
I had this rather spooky dream the night of 9/22/14. I’m not sure how well I remember it, but I do remember the most important details. I remember there were these certain creatures, and if you touched them, you would lose your memories. But, what made them even more frightening was the fact that you wouldn’t lose your memories until after you woke up in the morning. So if you touched one, you wouldn’t know if it would cause you to lose your memories until the following day, which would be a mighty stressful thing to wait for.
Several times in my dream, I saw these creatures lying on the ground. I don’t know if they were dead or just injured, and I didn’t know which ones were bad and which were okay. Now, of course, it would be best if I just didn’t touch any of them to begin with, but for whatever reason, these other people and I had to help them or take them somewhere or something. I don’t remember. So you’d have to figure out how to do this without touching them with your skin. I looked for long gloves to wear, but what if they weren’t long enough, and the thing touched my arm? I also looked for fabric to wrap my hands in, but what if the fabric was too thin? Would that not provide any protection? Continue reading The Duck Almost Has My Memories Stolen by FFIX Characters
I have been having a bunch of Slender Man dreams lately. I remember one where I was walking around this abandoned house with this other person, and we were afraid he’d show up, and I told her that I had seen him before. And then, as we were walking about this dark kitchen, we looked back, and there he was, and we immediately looked away (as you can’t look at him for long) and started trying to get the door to the outside open so we could get away as fast as possible, but it was terrifying not being able to see how close he was getting behind us. We then got outside and started running for our lives, hoping he wouldn’t simply teleport in front of us.
Then, the night of 9/28, I believe, I dreamt of him again, but this time I was with my mom, and he appeared outside, and we tried to run from him, but not being able to see him, we may have only been running closer, for all we knew. Then, the evening of 9/29, I was telling my mom about these dreams and saying I wish I would get nice dreams, like with the delightful Eleventh Doctor of “Doctor Who”, rather than creepy dreams about Slender Man. Well, my dream came true, as that very night, I dreamt about this very Doctor and two of his companions, Amy and Rory. Continue reading The Doctor Rescues the Duck From Slender Man
I had a really interesting, yet creepy, dream the night of 8/2/14. At first, it was similar to “Slender: The Nine Pages”, but I was in this abandoned schoolhouse. There was this creepy baby crawling along the ground that would follow you, and of course, being a dream, I couldn’t walk as fast as I should have been able to, and it kept catching up to me and grabbing onto my ankle, and whenever this happened, I just couldn’t get it off. Then, when I was finally free of it, I walked into this middle room with no windows and a jumble of chairs and desks, and I was trying to grab these notes before the baby showed up. So I guess it wasn’t too much like “Slender”, after all. Well, maybe just a little.
Then, I went outside, where there were a lot of people wandering about like zombies. Their memories had been stolen by an evil man who was a mix between Slender Man and Randall Flagg from Stephen King’s “The Stand”, and if they touched you, you lost your memories, as well. This one woman was jealous I hadn’t lost my memories yet and tried to touch me, but I got away and climbed up somewhere high where she couldn’t follow. I was lucky they couldn’t climb, so I was safe up there. Continue reading The Time the Duck Faced Memory-Stealing Zombies
I recently decided to watch “The Blair Witch Project” for a second time, thanks to a gameplay video of “Slender: The Nine Pages” I saw on Youtube that got me in the mood for something scary. That game thoroughly freaked me out and made me turn on a lot of lights in the house once nighttime came. And I did a lot of running down the hallway whenever I was forced to go down there to use the bathroom. Seeing a dark room at the end of a long hallway makes me suspect too much the Slender Man’s going to show up and…do whatever it is that it does. Whatever that may be, I’m certain it will be something I won’t like.
Unfortunately, “The Blair Witch Project” did not scare me this time. Sure, it was a bit creepy, but it wasn’t scary. Like how seeing a spider on TV is creepy, but I’m certainly not going to start shrieking and tossing shoes at it. (That is not to say that I typically behave in such an erratic fashion when spiders trespass on my property for real….) And I was quite disappointed because I really enjoyed the movie my first time seeing it. Even if I didn’t sleep that night. Nope, I didn’t sleep at all. At least it was impossible to get nightmares that way. Continue reading Not Knowing is the Worst Part
