Spooky Mini-Review #7: When Good Ghouls Go Bad

When Good Ghouls Go Bad is a 2001 movie based on a book by Goosebumps author R.L. Stine.  A kid named Danny recently moved to a new town where it’s forbidden to celebrate Halloween because of a curse caused by the tragic death of loner Curtis Danko 20 years prior.  As us movie viewers all saw coming from a mile away, the curse is inevitably unleashed upon the town, and zombies rise from the grave to wreak havoc.

The movie has some pretty good humor, along with some rather spooky stuff, for a kid’s movie, but there are some decidedly…stupid moments, as well.  Fortunately, the good outweighs the bad, making this a pretty good choice for Halloween.  It even features Christopher Lloyd as Danny’s recently zombified grandfather! If you’re interested, the movie can be watched for free on Youtube.
