So it’s late at night, probably ten or eleven, and I hear a crash from downstairs. Almost in unison, Mother Duck and I emerge from our rooms at the commotion. She tells me the cats came running into her room, and so, while she goes downstairs to investigate, I go to check on the kitties. Carmelita is nowhere to be found, but Rosalina (pictured above) is peeking out from underneath Mother Duck’s bed, looking quite shaken. On closer inspection, I discover that she has the handle from a paper bag hanging from her neck like a bizarre piece of jewelry (not unlike something Camelita did a while back…).Continue reading The Paper Bag Strikes Again
I’m not sure when I last talked about “the beans” (AKA our Siamese kitty sisters Rosalina and Carmelita), but any day not spent discussing adorable kittens is one day too many. (They are no longer technically kittens, but in my mind, they will be babies forever.) Today, I wanted to write about how cooperative our little kitties have become with each other.Continue reading Carmelita and Rosalina Learn to Share
The other day, one of our Siamese cats, Rosalina, became very ticked off. I always find it amusing to see something so adorable act so darn angry, so I decided I’d write a short little post about it. Without further ado… Continue reading Rosalina Gets Peeved
Seeing as our two Siamese kitten sisters, Rosalina and Carmelita, have proven to be an endless source of entertainment and silliness, I thought I’d write about another goofy story. Since we’re currently living in a rental, we have a huge pile of boxes overtaking the dining area. (Who uses dining rooms anyway when you can eat dinner on the couch in front of the TV…?) And our cats love chewing on cardboard, so we have a blanket on two of the boxes to prevent our feisty felines from tugging on a few bits of cardboard that have become loose. This story revolves around the fact that Rosie enjoys napping on this blanket and Carmelita’s obsession with going under blankets. Continue reading A Surprise from Beneath the Blanket: A Kitty Story
Good day, everyone! I always like to write about interesting things that have happened, both for sharing with you all and for myself to read about years down the road. And before I forget, I’d like to share a few silly stories about one of our two Siamese kittens, Carmelita. Rosalina, being the friendlier of the two, gets a lot of attention, and sometimes it’s good to focus especially on our dear Charmin’ Carmen. Continue reading Three Random Tails About Carmelita
Hope everyone’s doing well. Now that we’re several weeks into this COVID-19 thing, I can’t get over how quickly and unexpectedly life can change. One moment, our top goal in life is to find a new home so we can move out of our rental. The next, we’re discouraged from even leaving the house, let alone the whole state, and our top struggle is finding toilet paper rather than a new home. Continue reading Life Update: Empty Grocery Stores and Cuddly Kitties
I think it’s been a while since I last updated you guys about my two new kittens, Carmelita and Rosalina. One notable change is how much louder they are. Even as I type this, Rosalina is yelling at me even though lunch is 20 minutes away! Seriously, these are very talkative kitties. Carmelita still has a loud, normal meow, while Rosalina has a weird meow that sounds more like a duck quacking. Except it’s way louder and more frequent now. I find it hilarious that such an adorable kitty has such an ugly sounding meow! Continue reading Updates on Rosie, Carmelita…And I Guess Me, Too
G’day, everyone, just thought I’d write a little update concerning our two new kittens, Rosalina and Carmelita. Both kittens had several vet visits recently to finish their vaccines and to take care of a little tapeworm issue, but other than that, they’ve been quite happy and healthy and have grown a bit, too! Carmelita was a whopping six pounds when last we checked, while tiny Rosalina, probably the runt, was only three or four (I forget…or she gained a pound between vet appointments). Continue reading Over a Month with Carmelita and Rosalina
I am happy to introduce you all to the two newest felines to be adopted into the Duck’s household. Named after two gaming ladies (Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy and Carmelita from Sly Cooper), these two 9-week-old kitten sisters (predicted birthday June 23…though the papers say May 23…so are they actually three months old…? I’m so confused!!!) are Lynx Point Siamese, which basically means they’re a mix of Siamese and tabby cats. Carmelita (on the left in the banner) is the bigger, more beige one, while Rosalina (on the right) is the smaller, whiter one. Continue reading Introducing Carmelita and Rosalina!
Seeing as I am currently cat-less for the first time in four years, it is no wonder that cats have been on my mind quite a lot lately. And yet, though I deeply want to get another pet now that dear Elsa is no longer with us, I have no idea what’s going on with my life at the moment (it’s complicated), so getting a pet would currently be quite unwise. Even so, that does not mean my life is completely devoid of feline companions, because the nights of 3/6/19 and 3/7/19 were filled with dreams of these lovely, fluffy angels.
