The Duck Dreams of an Angry Woman and a Lighthouse

The nights of March 19 and 21, I had those weird dreams where you’re playing, but also living, a video game.  On the first night, I was in this horror game called Steam where you have to use this boiler-type machine.  As you try to make the heat rise inside the boiler, creepy monsters resembling animals will attack, and you have to release steam from the boiler to scare them off.  Though this also decreases the temperature in the boiler and makes it take longer for you to reach your goal.  I remember being attacked the most by this scary wolf-like creature, but later on, a strange lizard-man would try to attack, as well.

The Duck Dreams of Ghosts and Sewing Boxes

The night of February 9, I had a spooky dream that took place in the rental in which we’re currently living.  My parents and I were brushing our teeth in the kitchen, which is partially separated from the living room by a wall.  I heard this loud “whooshing” noise in the living room, but when I peeked in, I saw nothing out of the ordinary.  After a few more moments, I heard another noise that sounded like something metallic being messed with.  So I returned to the living room and really started to investigate.

The Duck Dreams of Racecars and Secret Rooms

The nights of March 9 and 10, I had a few more weird dreams that I’d like to recount for all of you.  My dreams on March 9 began with me being a racecar driver, of all things.  In this world, we could die and still come right back to life, just like in video games.  I was one of the best drivers around, and I was winning my current race.  Midway through the race, the top two drivers had to take this odd break where we’d try to get hit by these slow-moving cannonballs or something?  They wouldn’t injure us or anything, but getting hit by them earned you some sort of advantage.  I got hit by the cannonballs before the other driver, but then I was informed that once we experience our first death (which had apparently happened to me at some point), we are disqualified from racing for the rest of our existence.  I was a bit confused by this rule because, again, people in this world could die multiple times, so I didn’t understand why it should be an issue.

The Duck’s Recurring Dreams About Uncooperative Light Switches

Today, I felt like briefly discussing a recurring dream that I’ve had all my life.  In these dreams, the lights either don’t work at all or the light that the lamps emit is way too dim to be of much use.  I first remember having one of these dreams when I was a little kid of roughly six or seven.  The dream took place in my current house, and when I turned on the light switch in my room, the light wouldn’t come on.

The Duck Dreams of Long Lines and Bat People

The nights of February 4 and 6, I had a bunch of really bizarre and long dreams, and I decided to write them down before I forgot.  The first set of dreams was the kind where I’m playing a video game, but it’s also real life.  I, along with a group of other people, was on this farm, and we were broken down into three groups based on our abilities.  The group I was in was called Strikers, and we were strong and could wield weapons and fight.  I don’t remember super well what the other two groups were, but I believe they were more of the defensive variety.

The Duck Dreams of Escaping the Backrooms with Rosalina

The night of January 29, I had a dream where I was in the Backrooms (the endless maze of liminal spaces that is quite popular on the internet these days).  There was a series of levels I had to travel through before I could escape.  Towards the end, I ended up in this place where I was shot at from some unknown source, but if I ran fast enough, I was able to reach this bright, white light that would return me to the real world.

The Duck Dreams of Urban Exploring and a Witch

The night of December 5, 2022, I had a dream where a group of people and I were urban exploring.  It’s something that I have never engaged in in real life, though I do enjoy watching Youtube videos where people explore abandoned buildings, whether they be homes, hospitals, or anything in between.  As we drove through a neighborhood to our location, we saw this terrifying person that resembled some sort of evil fairytale witch.

The Duck Dreams of Dinosaurs in My House

The night of August 28, 2022, I had a dream where my room was situated at the end of a long hallway.  While my room had an ordinary door, at the other end of the hallway was a large, thick door that was a lot sturdier.  Both doors were currently broken, however, and wouldn’t close properly.  And this would probably be less of a problem if dinosaurs didn’t wander into the house every night!

The Duck Dreams of Loose Teeth

The night of October 24, 2022, I had one of those awful dreams where my teeth were falling out.  Mother Duck and I were living in our previous house, and all of a sudden, my teeth started feeling loose.  I ended up spitting out one tooth, and then another and another.  I tell Mother Duck what’s going on, and she says we need to go to the dentist and see if they can put my teeth back in.  But teeth just keep falling out, and I can feel all of my remaining teeth wiggling around.  They’re so loose, in fact, that I can hear them scraping together at the slightest movement, and I can barely talk around a mouthful of loose teeth!  I remember thinking, I wish this was a dream, but this feels too real and has lasted far too long to be a dream at this point.  So of course, I was super relieved when I woke up, noting with relief that all my teeth were firmly planted in place.

The Duck Dreams of Angry Blankets and Happiness

The night of September 28, 2022, I had a strange combination of dreams.  In the first one, one of the blankets on my bed developed a mind of its own and would try to push me out of bed.  It was very creepy.  I would try to sleep in my bed several times, only for one of the blankets to move on its own and shove me aside.  Fortunately, my next dream was much more pleasant.
