As my artistic endeavors continue, I often find myself failing to improve because I’m too “afraid” to practice things I’m not particularly good at. Of course, that’s exactly what I should be focusing on if I want to get better, and one area in which I need a helping hand is facial expressions. I found this sheet of 30 expressions on Deviant Art, which seemed like the perfect method in which to force myself to practice faces I would have otherwise avoided or simply not thought about.

1-Month Core Membership on DA from Ry-Spirit
A few days ago, Ry-Spirit, one of the artists on Deviant Art that I watch, posted a journal entry asking people to post their best work in the comments, with the possibility of receiving a Diamond Badge in return. I posted one of my most recent pictures, some fan art I drew of Crispin Whytehead from Psychonauts. I was rather proud of the background, which features Lake Oblongata. I ended up receiving a Diamond Badge, which also includes a 1-Month Core Membership! So special thanks to Ry-Spirit for his kindness!

Drawing Razoff 9 Years Later
G’day, folks, today we are comparing two pictures I drew of Razoff from Rayman 3, a rather…eccentric hunter who dwells in the Bog of Murk and who seems to dream of one day owning a “Rayman-skin rug”. My older picture is from 2012, in which I was inspired by Razoff’s many portraits. (Yes, the guy’s mansion is decorated quite profusely with pictures and statues of himself. Suffice it to say, he’s got an unhealthy obsession with his own mug.) My newest picture was done quite recently and includes one of my very rare backgrounds. I thought Razoff’s mansion would be a great place to practice some lighting and shading because the place is lit by all manner of fireplaces and candle-bearing chandeliers.

Haunted Mansion Color Palettes for October 2020
This post comes a bit late for Halloween, but I wanted to share with you all some drawings I did for the month of October. Months ago, I tried my hand at color palettes, the theme being the amazing game, Hollow Knight, that I had recently had the pleasure of playing. Since I had so much fun with this style of drawing, I decided to do a whole set of Haunted Mansion pictures in this style for the spookiest month of the year. Behold!

Drawing Vin 7 Years Later
Behold, another drawing comparison! I love doing these, as it’s a great way to see how much I’ve improved over the years. It’s also a bit painful to see how horrid my old pictures are…. Anyway, this is a comparison of two drawings I made of Vin from Jak II, which were drawn 7 years apart! Continue reading Drawing Vin 7 Years Later
New and Improved Duck: 2019 Edition
Just a super quick post for you all. I started this blog over 9 years ago, and for the longest time, it had a simple image of the duck (shown below), which I had updated more recently to make it a bit cleaner. Now that I’ve been drawing again for a bit over a year and a half, however, I decided it was time to draw the new and improved Duck of Indeed (still retaining the…ahem, nose drip because…reasons). It’s still rather simple, but I think there’s a lot more personality in this new one. Hope you guys like it! Continue reading New and Improved Duck: 2019 Edition

Celebrating 50 Years of Happy Haunts!
Greetings, foolish mortals. Today is a very special day for Disney fans, for Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion has just turned 50! Being my very favorite Disney attraction, I decided I simply had to celebrate this ghoulishly delightful occasion with something of the artistic variety. Along with something else quite special that I will be sharing with you all in the near future…. Continue reading Celebrating 50 Years of Happy Haunts!

Drawing Rouge 10 Years Later
A few weeks ago, I drew a revised version of my OC, Gretchen the dragon lady, which I originally doodled way back in 2009. Recently, I recreated another character that I first drew in 2009, Rouge the Bat from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. (I was in the mood to draw her thanks to my ongoing playthrough of Sonic Adventure 2 over on Virtual Bastion’s Youtube channel….) Continue reading Drawing Rouge 10 Years Later
