The Duck’s Recurring Dreams About Uncooperative Light Switches

Today, I felt like briefly discussing a recurring dream that I’ve had all my life.  In these dreams, the lights either don’t work at all or the light that the lamps emit is way too dim to be of much use.  I first remember having one of these dreams when I was a little kid of roughly six or seven.  The dream took place in my current house, and when I turned on the light switch in my room, the light wouldn’t come on.

Another similar dream that I remember quite clearly took place in a spookier version of our previous house.  I’m almost always home alone, and this dream was no exception.  I spent much of this dream in the living room, but it was larger than usual, making the shadows around the edges even deeper.  I remember turning on a lamp in the middle of the room, and although it actually turned on this time, the light was very dim and barely extended more than a few feet.

Although some details may differ, certain main features typically remain the same.  The lights either don’t work at all or just barely.  I’m usually in my current house, alone and at night.  And much of the time, I usually have this ominous feeling that I’m in danger, and I need this light to keep something at bay.

A quick search online led me to the discovery that these dreams are actually very common, though I haven’t yet researched the topic enough to find out what they mean.  But before I end this post, I’d like to ask you, dear readers: have you ever had these kinds of dreams?  Or what kinds of recurring dreams do you have?  Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below!
