Listmas 2018: My Duck-et List

For my final Listmas post, though Christmas itself has passed, I’d like to write about the Duck’s bucket list.  I haven’t written a bucket list since 2013, and…my goals have certainly changed a lot.  Nowadays, my goals are a lot more…Disney/theme park-related.  If you’re interested, the old bucket list is here.  Below, the Duck’s updated 2018 list:

Get the Brer Bear and Brer Rabbit Splash Mountain Funko Pop: This is never going to happen because Disney stopped selling it, and now you can only get it for twice as much on eBay, but…it’s so cute!  I suppose I can always hope.  Even if I know it’s futile.

Attend Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland: I really want to do this…so badly!  This is a special Halloween event that happens at night for about the month or two leading up to Halloween.  The park should be less crowded, since it closes to regular guests early, and they have a special parade and fireworks, and…  And…why do I need to justify my choice to go to Disneyland for Halloween!

Finish my Ratchet and Clank Novel: I have been slowly, over the course of several years, writing a Ratchet and Clank fan fic novel called Utopia.  I think it has a lot of potential, and I’d love to finish it one day….

Make Virtual Bastion Successful: Whether it be our blog or Youtube channel, I really want Virtual Bastion to become more successful.  In case you’re unfamiliar, this is the gaming blog/Youtube channel I work on with Cary of Recollections of Play and Hatm0nster.  I really want us to earn the gold Youtube play button….  We have already sold a couple t-shirts on SpreadShirt, so that’s pretty cool!

Visit the San Diego Comicon: The biggest comicon of them all.  Don’t know if I’d dress up or not, as my costumes wouldn’t be too easy to pack up and bring along on a plane, but it would be cool to visit the comicon to end all comicons at least once.  (I’m certain my body makeup is way more than the allowed number of liquid ounces security allows!)

Visit Disneyland in Paris: It would be cool to visit Paris and check out their own Disneyland park (along with all the other cool things Paris has to offer, of course).  I especially want to see the awesome dragon under the castle, Phantom Manor, and their own unique version of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Nintendo Land: This is a Universal Studios bucket list item, the latter of which has not even been built yet, but which looks like it’s going to be pretty cool.  I also desperately want to visit Diagon Alley because it looks like one of the coolest things in the universe!  Why do all the things I want to do cost so much money!  That saying that the best things in life are free appears to be false….

Do Commissions on Deviant Art: This is…possible, though doing free requests on DA and paid commissions are two very different things.  Nevertheless, once I’ve improved my art to a level with which I can be satisfied, perhaps it can be a means of making some extra cash.  Which can go to my theme park fund.

Go to Disney World: Okay, this is no surprise, now is it?  I’ve never been to Disney’s Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, plus I’d really like to revisit Epcot and, of course, the Magic Kingdom.  If I could pick a hotel, I’d choose the Polynesian Resort.  But again…money…

Ride a Unicorn: Just checking to make sure you guys are paying attention….

Eat at Club 33: This is the very fancy, super expensive, club in Disneyland in California (and two other parks, according to the Internet search I just did).  It would be super cool to see this exclusive place just once, but since I’m not a millionaire, the best, secondary, method is to know a rich friend, so…

Make Some Rich Friends

Get a Model of the Disneyland Haunted Mansion: Last time I went to Disneyland, I saw a store selling a model of the Disneyland Haunted Mansion (online, you can only find the Disney World version, last I checked).  Unfortunately, it’s pretty expensive and was not going to fit in my luggage….

Ride Space Mountain: I’ve ridden most rides at Disneyland.  This is one of the few I have left.  Even if a roller coaster in the dark is a little intimidating….

Eat Onion Rings at the Hungry Bear Restaurant: A bit anticlimactic for my final list item, but…I waited in line for a long time at this place last time I went to Disneyland, only to find they had run out of oil.  How do you do that!  Now I vow to one day eat the onion rings that were previously denied me….

    1. That was always the question I had, as well…how would I be able to bring my costume onto a plane? My Foxy the Pirate costume in particular wouldn’t be easy to pack at all, and some of my other costumes have liquid makeup, which I likely can’t bring onto a plane either. Right now, my Rosalina cosplay is my best option if I ever get to travel to the San Diego Comicon, as it’s the most compact and doesn’t require makeup.
