Listmas 2018: Future Cosplay Ideas

If you’ve been following us on Virtual Bastion, you may be familiar with Listmas, a little holiday we celebrate every December.  Listmas involves a rather fun format of blog posts, lists, which can be about anything at all, as long as you’re listing something.  While December at Virtual Bastion is dedicated to gaming lists, I decided to create some non-gaming lists here on my own blog, as well!  To begin, I thought I’d start with something easy…future cosplay ideas!

Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas: This seems like it would be a pretty easy costume.  Make a dress.  Get a long, red wig.  The part that looks like the most fun is painting on stitches….

Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank: The feline Ratchet from the Ratchet & Clank series seems like another fun character to cosplay as.  The clothes would be a bit tougher than Sally’s, but I would get to make a tail and big, furry ears!  I have also been thinking about how I can create a replica of Clank, as well….

Skull Kid from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask: The character I’d love to cosplay as most is Skull Kid from Majora’s Mask, one of my favorite games ever!  I have actually seen a lot of Skull Kid cosplays, and they’re all really cool.  The main challenge would probably be replicating Majora’s Mask itself, though….  Hmm, that will require some thought….

    1. Cosplay is so much fun, and I rather miss the days of creating new costumes. Lately, I’ve just been too busy, plus cosplay’s so expensive, that I’ve had to take a break. I think the one I’m most excited about is Skull Kid.

Once you post photos of your other cosplays, please let me know so I can check them out!

      1. It is so expensive. I’ve spent quite a lot of money on my costumes, because I’m kind of a perfectionist lol. The one I’ve wanted to do a long time is going to cost me quite a pretty penny because I found someone who makes actually working wings. They’re motorized and I must have them lol. I think it’s around $500 soooo yeah. I’m also no good at making anything, but I go on Etsy quite a bit, which is one of the best resources for it. Cosplayers also tend to be REALLY awesome with sharing their tips and tricks so there’s a lot of information and help out there.

I have some! Most of these are just plans for what I want to do but any of the Halloween ones have pictures 🙂

I *might* post the Sephiroth trials I did a few years ago, but I’m very weird about posting things that aren’t completely done (that perfectionist thing again ugh)

      2. My Foxy the Pirate cosplay was my most expensive costume. Now I’m rather protective of it because it took me so much time and money. Foxy’s head is now among one of my most prized possessions.

Cool, I’ll check out those posts of yours. Thanks!

      3. I can imagine! It’s pretty much like a fur suit I’m guessing, and while I’m not into that subculture, I know a lot of work goes into those and they’re quite pricey. Cosplay is so expensive especially good cosplay.
