Bonus Post: Great Grandmother’s Muffins

While I write a decent amount about food on this blog, I realized that I rarely include any actual recipes.  The other day, we decided to make some muffins using an old family recipe, created by my great grandmother on my mother’s side, who originally hailed from Genoa, Italy.  This is not exactly an Italian recipe; I just thought that was an interesting detail to include, nonetheless.

These muffins are easy to make, are just a little sweet, and go great with jam or butter, and if you’d like to make them, the recipe can be found below.  This recipe makes 6 muffins, which should be cooked in greased muffin tins at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.  The ingredients are as follows:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
